" It began with an admiration for each others art. About five years ago we joined a group of artists who meet weekly to draw the live model. One fated evening, we tried a little game in which we drew the model for ten minutes and moved to the others drawing. We caught our first glimpse of the future passing before our eyes. The idea of working together was sparked, but it never caught fire until one womans trash became the other womans treasure. What was deemed not worth keeping by Sara was scooped up like a beloved pet by Theresa. The results were successful and the angels began to sing. The transformation is remarkable yet the combination of styles seems to highlight each persons strengths." Theresas figure drawing is colorful, playful and imaginative. The figure is often representational and she creates a story with each piece. Her humor and personality come through effortlessly. Saras figure drawing tends to be more realistic, with the figure being the main focus. She tries to capture the personality of the model and often exaggerates certain features to help bring the drawing to life. How does this collaboration work? "Theresa takes Saras trash drawings and does her thing. Then we get together and collaborate to finish the piece. We know each others strengths and weaknesses well enough to share our opinions. We respect one anothers talents and enjoy sharing the creative process. We love the surprise of seeing our own work through the others eyes. It brings each piece to a new dimension that neither of us would have imagined." How long does it take? "Two lifetimes of observing, experimenting, and creating. " How can I buy this artwork?
