Schlafly Beer Builds Capacity For 2012; Partners With Iowa Brewery

A few months ago, we announced an agreement to brew Schlafly Beer at the new Blackstone Brewery in Nashville. With those first brews scheduled to take place soon, we are also very pleased to announce that beginning in mid 2012, Schlafly Beer will also be brewed at a new brewery near Iowa City, Iowa called Backpocket Brewery.

1.4 Million Bottles In 3 Days

That is the number of new Schlafly Beer bottles produced by O-I at their glass plant in Lapel, Indiana from July 11th to the 13th, 2011.  The road to this production began back last summer when we began to work on a new contract for our glass bottles and realized that we had an opportunity to add to the overall design of our bottle.

The travel writer Bill Bryson, when asked where he was from once wrote, “I am from Iowa, someone has to be”.  I was born in St. Louis and I am fortunate to have lived in the north of Scotland and have travelled far and wide but I had never been to Iowa.
